Any recruiter worth their salt knows that understanding an organization’s business needs is crucial. So too, is knowing a job seeker’s career goals. Finding exceptional talent and fusing it with stellar opportunity is what we care deeply about at AppleTree Executive Recruitment (AER).

Hi, I’m Kevin. For over 30 years, I have connected first-class professionals with companies seeking expert-level skills. In 2011, I founded Appletree Executive Recruitment.

For my work, I have been awarded “Platinum Recruiter Achievement Status” by the National Personnel Association – a global recruitment network with over 500 member offices on 6 continents. From April 2018 to August 2022, I served as the Ontario Area Leader for the NPA.

Along the way, we have figured out a couple of things. We know great job fits don’t happen by accident. They come about from having honest “cards-on-the-table” conversations. With both sides. At AER we ask clients the questions necessary to nail down our understanding of the position. And, we talk openly with jobseekers on their backgrounds and future goals, no matter how unrelated they may seem. From long experience, we know the best outcomes only occur when communications between all parties are 100% authentic.

Which brings us to one last thing. AER does not use AI for outgoing communications or candidate selection. Current AI technology is capable of carrying out a mind-blowing number of tasks across limitless fields in seconds. It can churn out answers to just about any question you can think of at the speed of light. But is it sophisticated enough to replace the work of experienced human recruiters? At this point in time, we strongly believe, it isn’t. But that said, we will keep an open mind as to whether adapting AI technologies in the future will benefit our processes.

Outside of work, I have served as Treasurer for the CSAHA Alumni Association, Director of Guelph Off-Road Bicycle Association (GORBA) and Manager of the not-for-profit Grange Hill East Neighbourhood Group Table Tennis Club (GHENG). I also mountain bike and ski, backcountry camp, and ride my motorcycle.
